  • Communication Strategies: Learn from personal experiences of conflict situations to develop strategies to reduce the opportunity for conflict in the future.
  • Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication: Describe two forms of communication and indicate the level of emphasis that can be placed on verbal and non-verbal communication during a conflict situation.
  • Cultural Differences: Understand the impact that cultural differences may have in relation to communication.
  • Communication Models: Utilise three communication models that would assist in dealing with different levels of conflict.
  • Behavioural Patterns: Recognise the behavioural pattern of individuals during conflict and the warning and danger signals displayed by individuals during a conflict situation.
  • Procedural and Environmental Factors: Identify the procedural and environmental factors affecting conflict situations and recognise their importance in decision making.
  • Safety Measures: Understand the importance of keeping a safe distance in conflict situations.
  • Reasonable Force: Explain the use of ‘reasonable force’ as described in law and its limitations and requirements.
  • Support Systems: Identify the range of support, both short and long-term, available to those affected by a violent incident.

About ACI's NHS Conflict Resolution Practical Session Including Breakaway Techniques Practical via Webinar

This refresher course is suitable for healthcare professionals and other individuals who require a Conflict Resolution practical session.

This course includes a practical session and assessment, delivered over live webinar with one of our experienced healthcare trainers. A booklet to support learning, will be sent out after the course.

Attendees will need to provide appropriate ID at the start of the session and must be in a private quiet space.

This course is mapped and aligned to the UK CSTF (Skills For Health).

  • Summarise the methods and actions appropriate for conflict situations bearing in mind that no two situations are same
  • Explain the use of ‘reasonable force’ as described in law and its limitations and requirements

  • Understand the need to provide support to those directly affected by a violent incident and the wider organisational benefits of this.
