Phlebotomy

This Phlebotomy course provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely collect blood samples in a clinical setting. Participants will cover anatomy and physiology, infection control, venepuncture techniques, patient care, and best practice to ensure accurate sampling and patient safety. Trainees will practice on dummy arms taking blood including the use of butterfly needles. Trainees will also need to take blood from live arms during the training session, so each candidate should be prepared to allow another student to practice on them, although they can refuse. Assessment competency sheets will be given to the candidate to complete 3 live phlebotomy draws under supervision/monitoring back in the work place.
