Manual Handling of People

This Manual Handling of People course develops safe, dignified, and effective moving and handling practices grounded in an understanding of normal human movement and spinal anatomy. Learners will gain practical skills in risk assessment, communication, equipment use, and safe techniques for moves, transfers, and managing falling or fallen individuals. The face to face course is delivered in line with the 'All Wales� NHS Passport'

Who is the course aimed at?

Nurses, healthcare assistants and support workers

Course pre-requisites

For face to face courses, students are required to declare physical fitness on a health questionnaire at course start. Course contains physical manual handling skills demonstration and assessment including use of hoists, slide sheets etc

Course Standard

Course is assessed and certificated. It is delivered in line with the All Wales Manual Handling Passport and is mapped and aligned to the UK CSTF (Skills for Health)
