Course Details

The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is a nationally recognised one-day qualification designed to provide learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond effectively to a range of workplace emergencies. Throughout the course, learners will develop the confidence to assess emergency situations, provide immediate first aid, and support casualties until professional medical assistance arrives. Topics covered include the role of the first aider, incident assessment, CPR and the use of an AED, choking, bleeding, shock, and the treatment of minor injuries. This qualification is suitable for organisations operating in low-risk environments and helps employers meet their responsibilities under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations. Upon successful completion, learners will be equipped to act as an Emergency First Aider within their workplace, contributing to a safer and more prepared working environment. The course combines theory with hands-on practical training, ensuring participants can apply their learning with confidence in real-life situations.

Important Information

The Emergency First Aid at Work course combines practical training with theoretical knowledge to ensure learners can confidently respond to emergency situations. Participants are continuously assessed by a qualified and experienced instructor throughout the course through observation, practical exercises, and interactive discussions. Learners are assessed on their ability to demonstrate the required first aid skills and understanding. Upon completion, a recognised Emergency First Aid at Work certificate will be issued, valid for a period of three years. Annual refresher training is recommended to help maintain confidence and competence in first aid procedures.
