Welcome to the ACI Care Training Academy
Purpose-built for healthcare professionals, our Care Training Academy offers a focused, hands-on learning environment for up to 12 participants per session—ideal for meaningful interaction and personalised support.
Whether you're a care home worker, domiciliary carer, dentist, GP practice staff member, or allied health professional, our courses are designed with you in mind.
Course Duration
6 hours – the course normally runs from 10am to 4pm. This course can be run on site at our training academy or at the customer’s location – there must be ample room for the practical training. Maximum number on the course allowed is 12
Course Information
This is a face-to-face training course that involves the theory and practical application and skills assessment for dealing with challenging behaviour and employing the use of release moves (breakaway techniques) and safe physical restraint holds.
Candidates need to complete a declaration of physical fitness at the start of the course which will be reviewed prior to the physical skills element, to ensure the safety of the candidate whilst participating in the practical skills.
Who the Course is Aimed At
This course is for all grades of staff who work in an environment that supports users with challenging behaviour. This course is NOT PMVA and is NOT Bild ACT certified or RRN approved. ACI do provide PMVA training and information can be supplied on request.
