The Oliver McGowan Tier 2 Facilitator Training Programme is designed for experienced trainers, educators and workforce development professionals who wish to become approved facilitators of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training. It is particularly relevant for individuals working within health and social care organisations who are responsible for delivering learning and development programmes and supporting high-quality, person-centred care. The programme is well suited to learning and development leads, clinical educators, practice development staff, trainers, registered managers and other professionals who have experience delivering training to adult learners. Participants should be comfortable facilitating discussions, encouraging participation and supporting reflective learning. This course is ideal for those who are passionate about improving understanding of autism and learning disability, reducing health inequalities and helping to create more inclusive services. Through the programme, delegates will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to deliver Oliver McGowan Tier 2 training effectively and engage learners in meaningful conversations that drive positive change. Please note that this is a facilitator training programme rather than the standard Oliver McGowan Tier 2 learner course. It is intended for individuals who wish to train others and play an active role in embedding best practice across health and social care settings.
Before booking onto the Oliver McGowan Tier 2 Facilitator Training Programme, please ensure you meet the eligibility requirements for becoming an approved facilitator. This programme is designed for individuals who have experience delivering training to adult learners and who are committed to maintaining the quality and integrity of The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training. Attendance on both training days is mandatory, and delegates are expected to actively participate in discussions, practical exercises and facilitation activities throughout the programme. Facilitators are expected to uphold the values of inclusion, person-centred care and reasonable adjustments that sit at the heart of the programme. The training supports the statutory learning disability and autism training requirements introduced through the Health and Care Act 2022 for CQC-registered providers.
