At ACI we offer a range of courses around the subject of Safeguarding Adults, Safeguarding Children, the Mental Capacity Act – Mental Health Act and Preventing Radicalisation.

Safeguarding is a key area of care and training in this area is absolutely essential for care workers. It is especially important in settings where children and young people are present, such as schools, childcare situations (e.g nurseries), and community groups.

Our safeguarding training teaches care workers to recognise indicators of abuse, exploitation, neglect and other forms of maltreatment. Recognition and identification of these is crucial for early intervention and help. So, our training courses give staff the skills and knowledge to report abuse and neglect and also covers best practices for protecting individuals from harm, including processes to follow if they suspect abuse or neglect, and how to correctly report concerns.

This in turn helps to foster a healthy culture of accountability as well as keep patients safe, because by knowing how to respond to concerns, care workers can help make a supportive and safe environment for adults and children.

Well-trained staff can then help maintain a safe culture for their clients and patients, which improves the outcomes for those individuals. Our training also promotes vigilance in the workplace, so that staff are always aware of their responsibilities in terms of protecting vulnerable people and know what to do when they need to act to protect them.

Staff who have completed relevant training in safeguarding will also be more confident in challenging situations they might come across during their work, because they know that they have the knowledge needed to effectively protect adults, children and vulnerable people, and they will have the ability to deal with difficult scenarios in a calm manner and using the right procedures.
